What Story will you Write?

 quill pen

"I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me. I had not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem. We took no pack animals with us except the donkey I was riding." ~Nehemiah 2:12 ~

There are stories where there is a lot of action throughout and only cardboard for characters.  Then there are stories with less action to a smaller degree, with real characters who fear and are courageous or cowards.  Then there are really long stories with lots of unnecessary action and lots of character to make up for it.
Then there are stories that seem to serve no purpose at all.

What story will YOU write?  What stories do you like, and why?  If you can answer that, it will help you write the stories inside you.

I like a soft story that pulls me gently in where I can enjoy another every-day life and experience someone else's life for a while instead of constant stress and danger and chills at midnight.  But then I want adventure that's new and unexpected, with twists making cliche' things not cliche'.  I mean, don't write what people tell you to write because you think it may give you readers.  A story is like a piece of you.  It's like saying, "just be yourself" around people you don't know how to impress.  Don't clone yourself to be like someone you aren't.  Just so with writing.  To me, the act of writing in itself is like a home, full of explosions and pixie dust and rain and snow and fall and spring.  What you write is a world you've created, just for yourself.  Don't share a young idea with anyone for a time.  Sometimes dreams should be protected so that they may grow.

It depends on what sort of story you like to write, and it depends on the pacing, and it depends on how well your characters are drawn out. (: What do you think?

Web of beautiful Ideas

Oh well.  Now I think there's three things I need to tell you instead of one.  I may as well tell now, even though I don't have any photos available yet.
Well, I have a few videos available from the interwebs...

1.  I got a beautiful harp!  Looks like this one.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZmZsI2E18k

2.  I got five copies of my book the Maiden of Wulden Hall!  Not officially self-published.  Has a long way to go before that.  I lent it out to a few people to critique it and that's going well.  A song that may have inspired a part of it years ago is this one.  The chorus was my favorite part.  "His grace flows down and covers me."  :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZdmGVGGH_w

3.  I have begun OYAN!!!  That is short for One Year Adventure Novel, a Christian school curriculum for teenage writers who want to write a story.  This is a really cool promo for it, fan-made (it has clips from Sherlock, Doctor Who, Firefly, and others).  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr-_jgYFxg0

Well, and another thing.
4.  Another story is making itself known.  I'll have to do research (which actually sounds like fun!).  It takes place in either England or Ireland in a time when trains were around... lots of smoke and fog.  And a writer named Mia Hood.

God bless you all!
